The Children’s NSF, published on 15 September 2004, sets standards for children’s health and social services, and the interface of those services with education.

Care to Learn: Parents' leaflet 2007-08

This leaflet is aimed at parents and is designed to help them understand Care to Learn and how to go about applying for support. Care to Learn provides financial support for teenage parents who want to continue in, or return to learning. It helps with the cost of their childcare and travel.

It highlights areas of conflict and gives advice on how to get things right by basing the answers on relevant facts derived from thorough and painstaking research. Friendships, sex, bereavement, divorce, bullying and eating disorders are all examined, providing a comprehensive coverage of teenage angst. The internet has become a great source of information for health yet often this information is inaccurate, misleading or even dangerous.

The Judge project was developed in partnership between:

Project aims

How can the health consumer be empowered to judge the quality of the information they find on the Internet? Support group Web sites are important sources of health information. Their role and the information and support they provide needs to be widely advertised. Many support groups have their own Web sites. It is vital that these Web sites contain good quality information and are well designed.

The Judge project aimed to address these two issues by developing guidelines for judging the quality of health Web sites.

• Our guidelines for consumers aim to help people make their own way through the large quantity of information on the Internet and to judge the quality of the sites they find.
  
  
• Our guidelines for support groups aim to help such groups produce good quality Web sites.
